The codes ICOM didn't tell you. CROSS BAND REPEAT MODE FROM THE FRONT PANEL: For cross band repeat with hang time mode enabled: Press and hold both tuning knobs (UHF & VHF), along with the [SET\LOCK]button. For cross band repeat with hang time disabled: Press and hold both tuning knobs (UHF&VHF), along with the [SET/LOCK] button and the [DUP\TONE] button. REMOTE ACCESS MODE: Press and release the [DTMF/SCAN] button till the word "REMO" appears in the middle of the display. Set your main frequency to the simplex or repeater you wish to work. Turn on the sub-band mode by pressing and holding in the tuning knob for the other band till [SUB] appears. Set your frequency. The sub frequency is the control frequency. NOTE! This must be done before you enter the cross band repeat mode if you wish to use remote control. Password is set in channel 5 on each band by pressing [DTMF] then [SET] to get to channel 5. "SKIP" means the password is function is disabled. This is toggled by using the [DTMF] key again. Originally "000", any 3 digit number can be used but "911" is discouraged. UHF & VHF may be set to different codes. REMOTE ACCESS: From your remote transceiver enter the remote control mode by setting the following code; { password } [B] [#] if password is disabled or [B] [0-9] [0-9] [0-9] [#]. Note! Entering remote control mode turns off cross band repeat mode. DTMF codes are all passed through transmitter while in cross band repeat mode till after the [#] is pressed. Display on the 2700 will start to flashing the "REMO" and "SUB". The following DTMF codes then become available. [1] Activates the call channel eg. [1] [#] [#] Duplex scratch pad memory 2. [2] Activates Memory Mode eg. [2] [D] [1] [5] Memory channel 15 [3] Activates VFO Mode eg. [3] [D] [1] [4] [4] [7] [5] 144.750 MHz [6] High Power [9] Low Power 1 [A] Clear [D] Enter [* or E] Down eg. Down 5 kHz (or tuning step) or down 1 memory channel [# or F] UP eg. Up 5 kHz (or tuning step) or up 1 memory channel [D] [C] Announces the main band frequency if UT-66 is installed. [B] [*] Exits the remote control mode without activating the cross band repeater mode. [D] [B] [*] Exits the remote control mode and activates the cross band repeat mode. To change from UHF control to VHF control freq. remotely: 1. Enter remote control mode and change VHF to new frequency and exit remote mode with cross band repeater active. 2. Change the remote transceiver to the new VHF frequency and enter remote control mode. 3. Enter the new UHF frequency and exit remote control mode with cross band repeater active. Note! Do not use frequencies that are multiples of each other, such as 147 and 441 (147 X 3). Auto repeater if active, functions in remote control & cross band repeat modes.
